Eliska Kubik-Melicharova – Swimming Advisor

Eliska Kubik Melicharova is a former Czech swimmer who studied and swam competitively at Union College University in the state of Kentucky.

She started her swimming career at the age of 8 in her hometown of Trutnov. Then, thanks to her secondary education at the gymnasium of J.G. Jarkovský in Prague, she joined the USK Prague team and had the opportunity to train under the guidance of the best Czech coaches and fellow top Czech swimmers at the University Sports Center in Strahov. Her youth achievements are considered to be 1st place at the Junior National Championship of the Czech Republic, 3rd place at the Nationals for adults and being a multiple participant in the final heats at the Nationals in the backstroke and freestyle discipline. Thanks to this experience, she also received a scholarship at the Union College in Kentucky, where she represented her university throughout her undergraduate studies for 4 years. Here she also graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology. In college, she was part of the relay team that took 3rd place at the NAIA Nationals. She was also a multiple-A finalist during her four years of college and placed on the AAC Conference podium several times. After graduation, she became an All-American Student Athlete and ended her competitive career here at UC in 2017.
